Brief History of the School
New Pitsligo and St John’s is so named as a result of the merger of two local schools, namely, New Pitsligo School and St. John’s Episcopal School. The present school is non-denominational.
Until 1983, there was a secondary department. This was discontinued in that year, upon the opening of Mintlaw Academy where local children of appropriate age now go for their secondary education.
Where to find us. (link to map site) New Pitsligo lies on the A950 between Mintlaw and the main Fraserburgh / Banff Road A98. After entering New Pitsligo from Mintlaw, take the first left turn up a hill.
At present the school has 5 primary classes, a Nursery and a Behaviour Support Base.
We also have a computer suite, library, canteen and Gym Hall. The playground is divided for older and younger pupils. These two areas are also divided into a football area, quiet area and general use area.
